I am delighted that you are interested in sending your son to King Edward VI School. I hope that this prospectus will give you some idea of the ethos of the school, and the range of activities undertaken by boys of all ages.
As a grammar school, the academic welfare of your son is of prime importance, and we are constantly endeavouring to improve and enrich the teaching and learning opportunities. But the school is also noted for its extracurricular activities, and we lay great store by our sport, our music and our drama. All boys benefit from residential courses at various stages in their school career. Regular expeditions abroad are undertaken to countries in Europe and further afield, as well as to other parts of the United Kingdom. Experience of the world of work is an integral part of the curriculum, and voluntary service strengthens our links with the town of Stratford upon Avon, and with local primary schools. Our participation in civic ceremonies, most notably in the Shakespeare Birthday celebrations, where the school leads the parade to lay flowers on Shakespeare’s grave, reminds us of our part in the continuing history of Stratford upon Avon, and the debt we and future generations owe to the man of the millennium.
If you would like to see round the school, we would be very pleased to meet you.
